LEVEL 4 / POST 1: A COUNTRY I WOULD LIKE TO VISIT.
ROMANIA AND THE OLD TOWNS
Some years ago when I was younger, I was into horror and fairytales. I’ve read some fic-stories that where posted on random fotolog’s accounts, mostly with characters like vampires, elfs, cyclops and sometimes they combine their “fics” with real life characters like the Kaulitz twins of Tokio Hotel or famous scene-emo models.
Usually the fan-fics writers where from Spain but they always picture a dark-gothic ambience like the castle of Drácula. So, with the power of technology, I began to research some landscapes from Google Earth for more pleasure.
That’s how I fell in love with the old world of German civilizations and I was thrilled with how the villages are like.
There are so many countries I’ll like to visit but specially Romania. Besides being the host of the great city of Transylvania it also has a dock city called Constanza, like me, where the weather is hell but the architecture is heaven.
I would like to go to Romania and get lost walking on the villages at dawn. I don’t know so much about the culture or how is it “being” a Romanian but I’m very interested in how people think about the expectations of their territory regarding horror stories, specially with the Netflix series adaptation of Castlevania.
Still.. I think I would like to go as a researcher and look up for some musical influences from the old tradition and how it has evolved to contemporary, how people really think about music in these days...
...because, at least in stories and what comes to my mind when I picture it, it looks like an old town with old traditions singing in taverns with a lute, but, what is like learn music in Romania? Is like a hobby or people play music daily? What about folk-romanian music? And, what influences or distinctions are there in romanian music from the old tradition?
These are some questions and perhaps prejudgement that I have about a country that I don't know much about but that intrigues me.
what a beautiful landscapes, I don't know so much of that culture, not even from games, literature about it, just the clasic idea of vampires, but it would be interesting to travel there, except for the weather.
