LEVEL 4 / POST 2 : THE BEST HOLIDAYS/CONCERT I´VE HAD

Well, the performance I would call a concert was an ópera at the Municipal Theater of Santiago. In September of 2018 a friend had 4 tickets to “The Barber of Seville” by Gioachino Rossini.

At the time I was through a very difficult situation, overthinking and crying about misunderstandings that made my heart hurts, I was low and confused, losing my way and nobody knew. But the invitation was so cool that I can’t say no.

So, after class with another classmates we went to the theater. We wait at the front of it while we speaking about how many operas we saw (musicians be like) ‘cause there was an ópera season at the Municipal and it’s a very different experience be there in flesh, I knew that day.

At the very beggining of the italian ópera, let’s say XIX century, there was 3 composers that rocks (I would say 4 with Mozart but he isn’t italian): Gioachino Rossini (1792-1868); Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901) and Giacomo Puccini (1858-1924).

What makes the opera a very acclaimed gender at the time was the revalued of the human voice, because with the born of the instrumental gender (XV century or so) the human voice (and for a long time) disappeared from the most part of musical repertoire. So, with opera, the musical lines and melody took great importance to composers creativity and singers opportunities. Also combine drama, literature, political criticism and architecture with the model of specials theaters only for opera.

Back to the concert, it was GREAT! I laughed out loud it’s was SO funny not much for the script but the scenes being so DUMB ajsjajsajaj I totally recomended to see that when you’re feeling blue ;).

In fact, I'll share with you a video that I've found with spanish subtitles!!!
