LEVEL 4 / POST 9 : CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME
One of the things that I liked from composition
career was the curriculum, that is why I enter to the University of Chile and
not another.
But once I was studying and now with 5 years on my back there are some things that could change, like some subjects in the first years because once you are in the third year there is a lot of academic load and that year is the last year to go to the upper years to obtain a degree, so many subjects that appears on that third year could be taken early in terms of motivation and mental wellness.
My career divides at two stages: 3 years of basic and 4 years to degree. I think that those years are good for all the contents that we study and also, we have the opportunity to get deep in subjects that appears on all those years like piano and composition. There is a long time to grow in progress.
We study from the basis of music, so we only need a sheet paper and a pen. Fortunately, there is some music writing programs like Sibelius or Finale that we use to write our music and print it.
Sadly, the art faculty is divided on 3 different places of Santiago, so composition only has stretch contact to a few of nine careers that the faculty has. And I said sad because I can only imagine how wonderful might be work with visual arts or be with the theater peers on the same building.
About teaching I think that is diverse 'cause at least at the composition subject, there are so many teachers that you can find and so many different aesthetics you can learn from
That is something good to explore yourself and fit with a good guide for you :).
Sounds like you got lucky, teaching visual arts is crap, and you don't miss a thing about arts college, it's horrible. XD
ResponderEliminarI would also love to share with the students of the other careers that are not in this building :(
ResponderEliminarI agree that all the arts should come together in a single faculty, as a visual artist I think it would be very entertaining to get together with colleagues from theater, music or dance :)
